01 — The brief

An idea with a deadline and no app yet.

Aria arrived with a sharp idea, a launch date already circled, and not a line of code. The original plan was to hire and build a team — but the calendar said there was no time to.

They needed a real, shippable product on both stores, not a prototype, before a moment that could not move.

02 — Approach

One codebase, both stores.

We built once and shipped to iOS and Android from a single codebase, so every week of effort counted twice — no native fork, no second team, no doubled timeline.

Design and build ran together instead of in sequence. Screens were drawn, built, and felt on a real device the same week, so the product got tuned by using it, not by reviewing it.

How we held the nine weeks.

  • Ship weekly. A real build landed on real devices every week — never a big-bang reveal at the end.
  • One codebase. iOS and Android from a single source: one effort, two stores.
  • Cut to the core. We shipped the one thing the app had to do brilliantly, and nothing it did not.
03 — Outcome

Eleven thousand, on word of mouth.

Aria launched on both stores on the date that would not move, and picked up eleven thousand installs in its first month with no paid acquisition — growth that came from people telling other people.

We still run the release train; new features land in days, and the store rating has held above four-and-a-half stars since launch.

They handed us a finished app while we were still writing the press release. The first ten thousand users showed up on their own.
